If your child has experienced difficulties in their early lives, as babies or children, the way they communicate their stress to us is by using big behaviours.
Behaviours are a big worry and can be scary to understand for professionals, foster carers and adopted parents as well as schools. It brings to life the meaning that drives complex behaviours, and using an approach known as PACE how we can connect to traumatised children and make them feel safe.
The Training
Online training
Webinars and online courses
As parents and carers, we are the stability our children need when the world around them is changing.
Our communication is so important, as simple as rethinking how we respond to our child when they are anxious and worried. It’s not about reassuring them, it’s about accepting how they feel and validating those feelings.
We are running free webinars and online courses are coming as soon as we can create them.

We are chatting live on our Facebook page regularly, where you can ask questions about Rafiki Mwema or about our training.
You can see the latest live here, and don't forget to 'like' our page so you see when we hold our next live in your feed.
We have written a guide about supporting your children with their fears and anxieties, at the time it was in relation to the natural disasters in Australia but it is still relevant now with COVID-19.

Building Attachments
Anne-Marie, and sometimes Peter, walks you through this interactive training in a fun and engaging way, not an easy feat with such a heavy subject matter. You learn about PACE and how the brain is changed by trauma, and how you can help children and young people in your life in the best way.
This training is suitable for foster parents, adoption agencies and parents, educators and anyone who is interested in learning about how the young brain deals with trauma.
NOTE: This training is cancelled for 2020 due to COVID-19 but you can still read more about it by clicking the button below.
