Job summary
We’re seeking accomplished Social Media Producers to manage our social media activity. Our aims are to deepen engagement, grow an active community of supporters, reach and attract potential supporters, and increase our fundraising conversion rate.
We’re looking for Social Media Producers who are able to reflect Rafiki Mwema’s vision and brand identity through social media content and who have deep experience in at least one of the following social platforms – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and TikTok.
These are volunteer roles that require a commitment of at least ten hours a week.

Rafiki Mwema is a charity that provides a safe refuge and trauma-informed care for children in Kenya who have been rescued from abuse or life on the street. Our home is located in Nakuru, Kenya, where we care for seventy children on the safety of a beautiful farm. Our head office is based in NSW Australia and our volunteers come from all over the world.
We believe that every child has the right to live in safety, receive justice, and be loved and cared for.
Rafiki Mwema is funded primarily through individual supporters who sponsor children and donate regularly.
What we’re looking for
We’re aiming to take our social media activity to the next level and are looking for creative, innovative social media professionals to share their expertise with us. If you’re adept at online community management, planning, crafting and publishing content, and with a keen eye for the perfect image, we’d love to hear from you.
You will:
- develop, implement and maintain a social media strategy and publishing calendar for the platform/s you have experience with
- plan and craft compelling content, both visual and written, that drives action from our supporters, grows followers and converts followers to active, engaged supporters
- measure and report on performance, and use the results to continually refine content
- engage with supporters and social media followers to build an active online community
- ensure all content adheres to Rafiki Mwema’s brand identity and tone of voice
Skills and experience
- At least 3 years of experience in managing a social media strategy and implementation across at least one of the following social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter and TikTok.
- Outstanding written, verbal and visual communication skills.
- Experience in writing and designing content, including image editing, for social media platforms.
- Ideally also have experience in producing video content for social platform.
- High level of ownership, accountability, initiative, and drive.
- Proactive, with a very strong attention to detail
- Ideally you’ll have experience using CloudCampaign and video editing software.
- An understanding of Rafiki Mwema’s brand and identity, mission and values.
- Ability to respectfully and professionally interact with employees, volunteers, supporters and stakeholders of Rafiki Mwema at all times.

Job summary
We’re seeking a Digital Content Producer to craft compelling digital content that helps us reach more people and increase engagement with our promotional and fundraising activities. You’ll produce visual, editorial and video content for Rafiki Mwema’s website, email, social platforms and campaigns.
This is a volunteer role that requires a commitment of between five to ten hours a week, depending on the marketing activities at the time.

What we’re looking for
As well as digital content production, you’ll also need to:
- ensure that all content on the website and fundraising platform is up-to-date, relevant, optimised and credible using our WordPress CMS
- manage ad hoc content update requests for Rafiki Mwema’s website and fundraising platform
- measure and report on performance using WordPress insights and Google Analytics, and use the results to recommend refinements to digital content
- ensure all content adheres to Rafiki Mwema’s brand identity and tone of voice
Skills and experience
- At least 3 years of experience in producing digital content, particularly image editing, and publishing content through social media publishing systems and content management systems (we use WordPress).
- Proven experience in producing content that drives engagement and motivates people to take action.
- Outstanding written, verbal and visual communication skills, with with high attention to detail.
- High level of ownership, accountability, initiative, and drive.
- Ideally you’ll have experience using CloudCampaign, Hubspot, Google Analytics and WordPress, as well as video editing software.

We’re looking for a Child Sponsorship Coordinator who has excellent customer service and communication skills to support our wonderful child sponsors. This is a volunteer role that requires a commitment of between five to ten hours week.

What we’re looking for
We’re aiming to grow our number of child sponsors this year and need someone to help us take our sponsorship support to the next level. You’ll need to take ownership of this role to build a lasting, committed community of child sponsors and identify and implement initiatives and other actions to continually improve the quality of our child sponsorship program and communications.
Your key responsibilities will include regularly communicating with child sponsors to answer any questions, keep them updated on the child or children they sponsor and onboard new child sponsors.
You’ll need to be comfortable working with very sensitive information and understand what’s involved in maintaining a child’s privacy. If you have experience in social work, child care, foster care or similar, we think you’d be perfect for this role.
Main responsibilities
- Respond in a timely manner to child sponsor queries via email, social media and our sponsorship portal.
- Connect with new child sponsors to welcome them and send them our sponsor pack.
- Provide a monthly report using Salesforce.
- Monitor our new sponsor nurture campaign through Hubspot.
- Keep children's details updated, including adding birthday photos and other relevant information throughout the year.
- Provide a regular yearly update to sponsors and additional ad hoc updates throughout the year.
- Follow up with the Kenyan team for child updates and rewrite for suitability and consistency.
Skills and abilities
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including fluency in English and a very high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and take initiative with excellent coordination and time management skills.
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- An awareness of child privacy and protection requirements, and the ability to handle sensitive information with sound judgement.
- Ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles, and effectively prioritise multiple tasks.
- Ideally you’ll have experience using Salesforce and Hubspot.

This is a volunteer role that requires a commitment of between two to five hours a week, providing advice on the development of Rafiki Mwema’s corporate partnership strategy and its implementation.

You’ll guide our team with advice as we build a pipeline of new prospects and identify opportunities to build sustainable partnerships that create shared value.

- At least 5 years of experience in identifying and executing strategic partnerships, ideally for not-for-profit organisations.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and presentation skills.
- High level of ownership, accountability, initiative, and drive
- Proactive, with a very strong attention to detail, and a creative approach to problem-solving
- Ideally you’ll have experience using Salesforce and Hubspot.
