The 3rd Annual Rafiki Golf Day in Perth was an unforgettable experience, bringing together an incredible community of supporters, sponsors, and volunteers to make a real difference for Rafiki Mwema. Held at the stunning Wembley Golf Course, the day was filled with camaraderie, excitement, and generosity—all made possible by our dedicated volunteer, Áine, who works tirelessly to ensure this event is a success.
This year, I was fortunate enough to attend in person, and it was clear to see that this day thrives because of the strong relationships Áine has built with this amazing group of people. Every aspect of the day ran smoothly, and the overwhelming support from attendees and sponsors ensured its success.

Exciting Auction & Raffle Success
The generosity didn’t stop at sponsorships—this year’s event featured an incredible auction and raffle, with sports memorabilia generously donated by Cooper Connelly, Damian DeAllande, and Nathan Lyon. Thanks to the enthusiastic bidders, we raised an impressive amount that will directly impact our projects in Kenya.
The Ultimate Hole-in-One Prize
One of the most exciting additions this year was a phenomenal offer from Gavin at Keep Driving Car Rentals—a brand-new Jimny for anyone who could score a hole-in-one! We had someone monitoring the green all day in anticipation, and while there were some incredibly close calls, no one managed to take the car home.
On top of that, Gavin also donated an exclusive VIP experience at the James Blunt concert in October. This vantage booth experience, which includes all food and drinks for 12 people, was a hot-ticket item in our auction.

Each year, Áine’s efforts have made an even bigger impact:

- 2nd Golf Day: $22,000 raised
- 3rd Golf Day (2024): We aimed for $15,000 but hoped for more…

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that this year’s event raised a staggering $29,845.37!
Where the Funds Will Go
Because of the incredible success of this event, we can fund all the priority projects we mentioned on the day and even contribute toward our ongoing operational costs!! The funded projects include:
- Fence Repair
- Fish Farm
- Expansion of Cattle Barn
- Purchase of a High-Yield Pedigree Holstein Friesian Cow (in calf)
