What is Workplace Giving?

Workplace Giving is a simple way to make regular donations to charities or organisations that are entitled to receive tax-deductible gifts – just like Rafiki Mwema! Through this program, employees donate a portion of their pre-tax salary, and many employers match that donation to double its impact. How much you give is entirely up to you.

Workplace Giving Australia explains it like this: if you donate $20, it may only cost you $12.60 after tax, while the charity still receives the full $20. And in many cases, employers choose to match staff donations too – turning your $20 into $40 for the cause you care about, at no extra cost to you.

Choosing a charity to support

Why choose Rafiki Mwema?

Rafiki Mwema is an Australian charity providing therapeutic safe houses in Kenya for young girls and boys who have suffered horrific abuse.

Every month, it costs us AU$45,000 just to keep our doors open. We receive no government funding, and rely entirely on the generosity of sponsors and donors – people like you – to meet our running costs and fund the projects that transform children’s lives.

The support we need is ongoing, and it touches every part of our children’s recovery and wellbeing. Read more about our ongoing costs.
