We are really excited to have such a humble and passionate staff member win this month’s award. All nominations that came in all commented on the unconditional love you display to everyone at Rafiki Mwema, both staff and children. You are a hard worker in every area of your role, you arrive early for your shift and you are always one of the last to leave. Our boys love having you around and you are always able to maintain a calm environment. You are a wonderful father figure to our boys and can mediate any situation to come to a resolve without any issues and it is clear how much respect they have for you. One of the nominations said it best, “James is a very good example of what Rafiki Mwema came to do in Kenya through love and acceptance because he loves unconditionally.”
Multiple nominations mentioned James’ unconditional love for the children in his care along with his humble nature and compassionate caring heart. His strong work ethic was also mentioned several times – the first one to arrive last one to leave, with an attention to detail and the pride he takes in perfection for all he does at Rafiki Mwema.
James is hardworking and so flexible. He connects well with the boys, and they all see him as a father figure. He has played a major role by ensuring that the boys meet every evening for a devotion. This has strengthened trust amongst the boys and also with the staff. Behavior wise, the devotion has contributed positively, hence incidences of big behaviors that were occasionally recurring have subsided. His humility has made the boys find it easy to approach him and share their challenges and needs with an assurance of not being criticized.
Congratulations James on being voted our Employee of the Month for February!
