We are beyond proud to share that our cattle barn expansion project is now complete – and it looks amazing!
Thanks to the generosity of our incredible supporters, especially those who contributed through our Perth Golf Day fundraiser, we’ve not only expanded the barn but also renovated sections of the old barn to create a warm, secure space dedicated just for our calves. 🐮💛
And we did it all despite the challenges of relentless rains that swept through during the build. Our team showed incredible resilience and commitment to get the job done – rain, mud, and all!
Here’s what’s now in place:
- ✅ A fully completed and expanded cattle barn
- ✅ A renovated calf area in the former barn structure
- ✅ A strong stockpile of hay and corn ready for silage
- ✅ And best of all… we’re now preparing to welcome two high-yield, pedigree milking cows to support nutrition and sustainability at the farm!
This project is so much more than a barn. It’s a step towards long-term food security, a more self-sustaining future, and better nutrition for the children we care for every day.
We invite you to scroll through the photo gallery below to see the journey – from muddy beginnings to a safe and thriving space for our cows (and calves!) to call home.

From all of us at Rafiki Mwema, thank you for walking beside us and making this possible. Huge thanks to everyone involved in this year’s Perth Golf Day – and a special shoutout to our dear friend Áine, who pours her heart into hosting this event every year (and so much more) for Rafiki. You’re amazing!
Every donation, every golf swing, every act of support helps us build a safer, more sustainable future for our Rafiki family.
With love and gratitude,
Sarah Rosborg, Nicholus Njogu and the Rafiki Mwema Team
