School president – a role that’s perfect for a Rafiki King. Responsible for representing the school’s student body, duties of the school president also include working with students to resolve problems, and liaising between students and teachers to raise ideas and concerns.
Earlier this year, Matteo* decided he wanted to run for the position.
He told us that he prepared for being school president by setting his personal boundaries and principles, and sticking to them. He also worked hard to model positive behaviour for the teachers. And when he started school, he made a lot of friends by, in his words, “being calm and cool”, and they rallied behind him during his campaign.
As the school president, Matteo stands out in a special blazer that he’s proud to wear, and takes his duties very seriously. He enjoys the important role, saying, “I feel good and much adored. It’s a privilege I was given.”
