We asked for help, and you answered with a roar of support that has left us speechless, humbled, and overwhelmed with gratitude. When our friend, the incredible Constance Hall, put out a call to her community, we watched in awe as hundreds of you stepped up to become a lifeline for our children in Kenya.

The result has been nothing short of extraordinary. As of Monday 17th November 2025, this amazing community raised $73,937 in one-off donations.

Even more transformational is the $22,961 in new recurring monthly donations. This is the kind of support that changes everything for an organisation like ours. It’s the gift of stability. It’s the gift of peace of mind. It’s the gift of knowing we can keep our promises to the children who depend on us.

The Weight of “What If?”

Running an organisation like Rafiki Mwema comes with a constant, underlying pressure. The need is endless. There are always more children suffering from abuse and neglect, more calls for help, and more situations that require our immediate intervention. Our biggest fear has always been having to say ‘no’ to a child in desperate need because of a lack of funds.

This creates a heavy burden. It means that even personal time, like taking a much-needed break after more than a decade of non-stop work, is filled with a sense of unease. How can you switch off when you know the funds are running low? It’s a difficult catch-22: you need to rest to keep going, but you need to keep going to bring in the funds that allow the work to happen.

Your generosity has lifted that weight.

What Your Support Truly Means

It’s easy to see the numbers on a screen, but the true impact of your donation goes far beyond a dollar amount. It translates into tangible, life-altering support for children who have known nothing but horror.

It Means Consistent Care

Your monthly donations cover our fundamental running costs. This includes everything from providing nutritious food and safe, warm beds to funding the therapeutic care that is at the heart of what we do. It ensures our incredible Kenyan team, led by our Country Director Nicholus, can focus on what they do best: helping children heal.

It Means We Can Say ‘Yes’

The most immediate impact of this stability is our ability to respond to emergencies. When a call comes in about a child who has just been rescued from an abusive situation, we no longer have to hesitate. We can confidently say ‘yes, bring them to us’. We can say ‘yes, they will have a safe place here’. Your support means our doors remain open for the next child who has nowhere else to turn.

It Means a Future Filled with Hope

As Nicholus so powerfully shared (in the message below), your donations send a clear message to our children. They see that they are valued, loved, and not defined by the trauma they have endured. It shows them that a global community of people cares about their future and believes in their potential to heal and thrive. This sense of being seen and cherished is a vital part of their recovery journey.

Our team on the ground in Kenya is the backbone of Rafiki Mwema. They are the ones who hold the hands of frightened children, who sit with them through therapy, and who celebrate their every milestone. Your support has filled them with renewed energy and hope.

As Nicholus wrote, “Your generosity is not just a financial contribution; it is a lifeline to our work… It is always a shivering thought to think of ever turning our backs on a genuine and needy child requiring help due to funds insufficiency. Unfortunately, we were heading towards this point, and you were just so timely to shine your rays of hope to us.”

A Message From Kenya

Hello Queen Constance and our Valued Queens and Kings Sponsors,

On behalf of the Kenyan team, I extend our deepest gratitude for your generous donation and tremendous support. Your compassion for the children of Rafiki Mwema empowers us to continue our vital work of supporting these lovely angels who have suffered extreme horrors of abuse, barbarism, cruelty and violence, mostly meted on them by their would-be protectors.

Your generosity is not just a financial contribution; it is a lifeline to our work. There are still many child abusers out there and more children are going through horrific situations. The pressure to support increasingly keeps piling as more children are being referred to us. It is always a shivering thought to think of ever turning our backs on a genuine and needy child requiring help due to funds insufficiency. Unfortunately, we were heading towards this point, and you were just so timely to shine your rays of hope to us. We are deeply grateful that through the campaign and the donations we have more light on our Rafiki Mwema path for us to even do more for the children in Kenya.

It was so delightful seeing the hundreds of queens and kings who heeded your call donating and posted sweet words of encouragement and support to this great service. It has all told to the children that they are seen, valued, loved, not defined by what they have gone through; that healing and recovery from trauma is realizable; that they have a future filled with hope and dignity and that there are people who care and cherish them.

We remain very committed to honoring your trust. Every cent that you have donated to us has and will always be put to the most impactful use for the benefit of the children of Rafiki Mwema. We continue with the unwavering dedication to support the children’s recovery from trauma and their transformation, for them to enjoy childhood and make a difference in their lives.

Once again, thank you so much, Queen Constance 👑, and all our lovely sponsors. We certainly could not do this without you. Your compassion and kindness have all but left smiles of joy and gratitude to us.

Sending lots of love ❤️ from Doyle Farm, Kenya.

With heartfelt appreciation,
Nicholus Njogu – Country Director

The Ripple Effect of Community

This campaign has been a powerful reminder that no one can do this work alone. It takes a village, and our Rafiki Mwema village has just grown exponentially. We’ve been trying to respond to every single one of the beautiful, encouraging comments you’ve left, and it’s been incredible to read your words of support (even if Facebook temporarily thought we were spammers!).

Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for listening to Constance’s plea. Thank you for showing up for our children in a way that has profoundly moved every single one of us.

We are committed to honouring your trust by ensuring every dollar is used to create the greatest possible impact for the children in our care. You have given us the stability to not only continue our work but to do it with more certainty and hope for the future.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our community.
