Employee of the Month – June 2026
There’s a name that keeps coming up at Rafiki Mwema — in the corridors of Doyle Farm, on the streets of Nakuru’s CBD, and everywhere in between. It’s Jack. And this month, we’re thrilled to celebrate Jack Omolo as our June 2026 Employee of the Month.
Jack works across two of Rafiki Mwema’s programmes — Doyle Farm and Rafiki Mtaani — and in both spaces, he has made himself indispensable. Not because he has to, but because that’s just who he is.

Changing lives, one conversation at a time
At Rafiki Mtaani, Jack has been running regular sessions with street families on drug and substance abuse — and the results speak for themselves. His colleagues have noticed a tangible reduction in drug use among Mtaani families, and an increase in the number of children making the decision to leave the streets and return home to their families. As one of his colleagues put it: his teachings have transformed some of the street children who made a decision to leave town and went back home to their families.
What makes Jack’s approach so effective is that he doesn’t talk at people — he walks with them. He takes the time to understand the real challenges facing these families, covers real issues in his sessions, and creates a space where people feel safe enough to change.
Opening doors to education
Jack’s dedication doesn’t stop at outreach. At Doyle Farm, he has been a driving force in ensuring our children not only attend school, but thrive. This month, he went above and beyond to secure school placements for children enrolling in senior school, personally following up to make sure they were admitted on time.
For our young people who have completed Form Four, Jack has made it his mission to ensure they don’t fall through the cracks. He has travelled long distances, attended meetings, and worked closely with colleges to get every one of them enrolled in a course — opening up a future that might otherwise have felt out of reach.

More than a staff member
Jack is also a football coach, using sport as a powerful tool for discipline, teamwork, and positive engagement with children at both Doyle Farm and Rafiki Mtaani. He brings joy, laughter, and energy to every space he enters — he’s that person you’d automatically feel the absence of, as one colleague put it so perfectly.
Beyond his scheduled hours and set duties, Jack keeps showing up.
He makes himself available in town on days he doesn’t have to, he meets people where they are, and he has built a presence so trusted that people outside our programme seek him out for support. That’s not a job — that’s a calling.

What his colleagues say
The nominations we received for Jack were full of warmth and admiration. Here are just a few of the things his colleagues wanted him to know:
“He is a role model to all.”
“He is a determined person who doesn’t move with the waves. He always stands for truth, a peacemaker.”
“He is that person you’d automatically feel the absence of.”
“His teachings have transformed some of the street children who made a decision to leave town and went back home to their families.”
