A letter from our CEO
A letter from our CEO Morwen Rossiter, updating you all on recent changes.

To our wonderful Rafiki family,

I’m writing to let you know about important changes in Rafiki Mwema’s structure and leadership.

Rafiki Mwema was born from the passion and dedication of Co-founders Sarah Rosborg and Anne-Marie Tipper to bring recovery and healing to children who have experienced the most serious of trauma. They believe that every child deserves to be loved, safe and supported, and turned that belief into action. As a result, countless children and families have put their lives back together and gone on to live happier, safer and more secure lives.

After ten years leading Rafiki Mwema together, it’s time for a leadership change.  Anne-Marie Tipper is leaving Rafiki Mwema to run another charity and I’m thrilled to announce that Sarah Rosborg has accepted a new and critical role at Rafiki Mwema as Director of Partnerships. This role will give her the opportunity to focus on what she does so beautifully – fundraising, engaging with our wonderful sponsors, building business partnerships and nurturing our Ambassador relationships.

I would like to recognise the legacy created through Sarah and Anne-Marie’s partnership. Their impact is immeasurable and will ripple through countless families for generations. My sincere admiration for what they have achieved over the years is considerable.

We have also strengthened Rafiki Mwema’s internal leadership and governance structure to deliver long-term stability and sustainability. The changes will better help us achieve our mission – to ensure that every child, without exception, is safe, cared for, loved and given the chance to live their fullest life.

Rafiki Mwema’s core values of empowerment, opportunity, equality and kindness are at the heart of our mission. Our teams in Kenya and Australia are committed to reflecting these values in the way we work with each other, the children in our care, the wider community and, of course, you.

We are delighted to be forging a sustainable, equitable and value-driven path into the future and invite you to join us. Thank you for supporting all that Rafiki Mwema does. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and we are so blessed and eternally grateful that you are part of our village.

Regards,
Morwen Rossiter
