Thank you for standing with us
We are deeply honoured to be the charity partner for this year’s RICS Conference.
Our sincere thanks to RICS for this opportunity to share the work of Rafiki Mwema with conference attendees and to shine a light on the healing journey of children who have experienced deep trauma and abuse. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important event and to connect with individuals and organisations who care about making a meaningful difference.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to CCR Engineered for Success for their ongoing support, advocacy, and partnership. CCR has stood beside Rafiki Mwema in a number of meaningful ways, and we are incredibly grateful for their belief in our work and their commitment to helping children heal.
Who we are
Rafiki Mwema exists to provide safety, therapeutic care, and long-term support for children in Kenya who have experienced trauma, abuse, and neglect.
This work is both deeply needed and deeply personal. Every child deserves to feel safe. Every child deserves the opportunity to heal. Every child deserves hope for the future.
Our work is centred around helping children move from crisis and trauma toward healing and hope.
Through trauma-informed care, therapy, safe housing, education, and consistent support, we walk alongside children as they begin to rebuild their lives.
Why this matters
The children we support have often experienced significant harm at a very young age. Healing from trauma takes time, specialised care, and a safe environment where trust can be rebuilt.
At Rafiki Mwema, we are committed to providing that care through a model that is relational, therapeutic, and child-centred.
Our aim is not only to meet immediate needs, but to support long-term healing and restoration.
Healing does not happen in isolation. Where it is safe to do so, we work alongside families and the wider community to support each child’s journey back to a place they can call home.
How you can help
You don’t have to do everything. But everyone in this room has one door they can open, one person they can introduce, one skill they can offer, or one gift they can give.
There are many ways to stand with Rafiki Mwema — whether you’re here as an individual, a business leader, or part of a larger organisation. Here are some ideas to get you started.
Give
A one-off gift or a regular monthly donation helps us plan ahead and keep our doors open for the children who need us most
School fees, therapy, food, transport, medical care, staff training, bedding, safety upgrades, or emergency support
A legacy gift becomes a long-burning lantern for children’s safety, healing, and futures
Ask for donations instead of birthday, wedding, anniversary, Christmas, or retirement gifts
A small group of friends, colleagues, or family members commits to raising a set amount each year
Birthdays, marathons, walks, swims, “give something up” months, fitness challenges, workplace competitions, or a sponsored silence if you’re feeling brave
Connect us
Connect us with businesses, schools, churches, clubs, foundations, philanthropists, HR teams, CSR managers, grant-makers, accountants, lawyers, builders, therapists, educators, media contacts, or anyone with a generous heart and practical hands
Help Rafiki Mwema become a charity partner, workplace giving recipient, Christmas appeal beneficiary, staff fundraiser, or cause connected to a company event
For awareness, fundraising, global citizenship projects, leadership programs, or service-learning partnerships
Identify opportunities, share foundation contacts, review applications, write support letters, or introduce us to decision-makers
Amplify
Follow, like, comment, repost, invite friends, add Rafiki Mwema to newsletters, or share campaign links when appeals are running
At workplaces, schools, Rotary/Lions clubs, faith groups, community groups, conferences, leadership days, women’s networks, or industry events
Invite friends, colleagues, clients, or leadership teams to hear about the work and learn how they can help
For businesses and organisations
You can support Rafiki Mwema through corporate giving, sponsorship, workplace fundraising, matched giving, strategic partnerships, or by introducing us to networks that align with our mission.
Some businesses also have community benefit, supplier donation, or social impact budgets worth exploring — we’re always happy to have that conversation.
