Explore EBBE SignalWhere it came from
EBBE is a suite of tools to help business owners and individuals to keep on top of their busy lives. If everything feels too much and chaos has taken over not just your brain but also your body – EBBE is for you.
The first tool to be released by EBBE is “EBBE Signal“, a lead-scoring platform for nonprofit fundraising teams.
EBBE Signal is built by Lou Keys who has spent more than 20 years working inside Australian nonprofits. Lou was one of the fundraisers helping to raise over $30 million for type 1 diabetes research, and has also been on the Rafiki Mwema team for the past 4 years.
Working alongside Rafiki Mwema and other nonprofits, Lou knows what it’s like to sit in a fundraising team, buried in spreadsheets, trying to work out which grant, donor or partnership is actually worth chasing. That’s the exact problem EBBE Signal was built to solve. It takes a messy list of leads and turns it into a single, defensible priority score – so fundraising teams spend less time triaging noise and more time on the relationships that bring in real, sustainable income.
The goal is to spend less time doing admin and more time delivering real impact for the cause.
How EBBE Signal works
Signal is designed to help nonprofit fundraising teams with the following issues:
- Too many leads. Not enough time to assess them properly
- Fundraising teams chasing activity instead of likely income
- No clear way to prioritise grants, donors, sponsors and partners
- Decision-making that lives in three people’s heads, not in a system
“Signal is the tool I wished I’d had at every non-profit I’ve worked in. I built it for my own professional need, tested it on real pipelines, and put it in front of real boards before I let anyone else near it. It works – because I have lived this problem for 20 years.”

Values that sit at the heart of their work
When we asked what drives their business, their answer was:
- EBBE is designed to help people to keep things together when times are tough and to turn chaos to calm.
- EBBE Signal is a platform created for non-profit professionals to prioritise the best funding options that match their cause so that they can cut through the noise and focus on the best grant opportunities. This helps by saving time and giving clear reports to Boards and Executive Teams so that they can get to the best funding options for their cause as quickly as possible.
How they found Rafiki Mwema
Their “why” for becoming Business Buddies comes from a long term friendship rooted in similar values:
In 2003, I as living in Whistler Canada with some wonderful Australian friends – one of whom introduced me to her cousin Sarah who came to visit – and this was the first meeting of Sarah and Lou! As soon as we met, I knew that we were kindred spirits and we have remained close for the past 23 years. When Rafiki Mwema advertised that they needed a Marketing Assistant to support their vital work I jumped at the chance…. and 4 years later here we are!

Why Rafiki Mwema?
I support organisations whose values echo my own – integrity, passion and commitment – and that is what I’ve always seen in Rafiki Mwema. It is an organisation that truly changes lives but also knowing Sarah as the co-founder means that I truly believe that those values are deeply embedded Into Rafiki Mwema and that behind everything are people like Sarah who truly put our beautiful Kenyan family at the forefront of everything they do. I only support people and organisations that I truly believe in – and Rafiki Mwema is one of them.
A huge thank you to EBBE for choosing to give back
As the team at EBBE puts it, they’re hoping that through small, regular contributions, they can make a big difference. This is truly how the world turns – by small, every-day kind deeds.
Check out their tools at ebbe.com.au, and keep an eye out for their dedicated donation link if you’d like to support Rafiki Mwema directly too.
