We’re thrilled to share some exciting updates from Doyle Farm, where vital projects are already underway thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved in our Perth Golf Day fundraiser.

Your support is making a real difference – not just in words, but in action. Here’s a look at what’s happening on the ground in Kenya:

🛠️ Electric Fence Repairs – Underway!

One of our top priorities for safety was the repair of our electric fence – and we’re happy to report that work is already in progress!

  • 120 brand new electric poles have been purchased and approved by our technician.
  • Reinforcements on worn-out poles are currently underway, ensuring that our children and staff are protected by a secure perimeter.

We are thrilled to have these photos to share with you and we cant wait to share the rest of the updates with you.

🐄 Cattle Barn Expansion – Starting Now!

Next up, we’ve begun work on expanding our cattle barn. This project is expected to take around two weeks, and will give our livestock the space and shelter they need to thrive – supporting both food security and sustainability at the farm. We’re also currently on the lookout for two high-quality, purebred milking cows that are pregnant, which we hope to purchase as soon as possible to further strengthen our dairy production and nutrition for the children.

🐟 Fish Farm Project – Coming in May

Following the barn expansion, we’ll be turning our attention to our fish farm in the second week of May. We’re hopeful the seasonal rains will have subsided by then, giving us the right conditions to construct proper, productive ponds.

This is not just about farming – it’s about creating long-term, sustainable solutions that feed and support our Rafiki family for years to come.

We’re so grateful to each and every one of you who attended, donated, played a round, or helped make the Perth Golf Day such a success.

These projects are more than construction updates – they’re steps toward healing, independence, and security for the children we care for.

Thank you for walking this journey with us.

With love and gratitude,

Áine, Sarah, Nicholus and all of us at Rafiki Mwema
