Meet Doyle Farm’s newest arrivals — and help us name them!
Here’s how the Puppy Naming Fundraiser works: you can donate whatever amount feels right to you, and you can vote for more than one name. When voting closes, the seven names with the highest donations will become the official names of Doyle Farm’s newest guard dogs.
Tip from our Admin Officer Vic: Create a fun, affordable family competition by asking each family member to choose their favourite name, donate $5 (or whatever you can afford!) to each of the names and when voting closes the name that climbed the highest is the Family Winner!
Insert prize of your choice here, they get to choose what’s for dinner, dessert or what movie to watch perhaps? This also works for workplace challenges and community groups as a fun competitive game, with the added feelgood factor of helping Rafiki.

Dogs as therapy
Doyle Farm is home to Rafiki Mwema’s therapeutic centre, where children who’ve experienced trauma find a safe, supported place to heal. These puppies will grow up with an important job of their own — helping keep watch over the farm and the children and staff who live and work there.
The dogs on Doyle Farm are guard dogs first and foremost. The kids absolutely adore the dogs and are often found cuddling them.
For many children healing from trauma, a dog may become one of the first relationships that teaches them something profoundly hopeful. That closeness can feel safe, trust can grow and that they are worthy of love without having to earn it.
Dogs can foster healing and recovery
Dogs, or any other animal, can’t replace human therapy by qualified adults, but they can become valued companions in the process, helping children feel calmer, more connected and more open to the relationships that foster recovery.
There is nothing better than the cuddle of a puppy with nothing but love in it’s big innocent eyes!
