What an extraordinary day. Our 4th Annual Golf Day has come and gone, and the impact it leaves behind is nothing short of remarkable.
To every sponsor, player, volunteer, and supporter who joined us: Thank You. Your generosity and commitment continue to make this event one of the most meaningful ways we come together to support the children at Rafiki Mwema Therapeutic Centre in Kenya.
The result
This year, together, we raised an incredible $84,593, with event costs of just $21,010. Included in this total was a generous $15,000 in employee matched giving from Rio Tinto, which made a significant difference to the final result.
A number like that doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of people: people who show up, give generously, and choose to stand with some of Kenya’s most vulnerable children.
A special Thank You to Áine
We want to give a very special thank you to Áine, who year after year continues to show up, create this day, and bring in much-needed funds for Rafiki Mwema. Her dedication, commitment, and heart for the children we support is nothing short of remarkable.
Without Áine, and without the support of this incredible community, so many of the projects we have been able to complete on the ground in Kenya simply would not have been possible.

What your support makes possible
Because of your generosity, this year’s Golf Day doesn’t just represent a number raised — it represents real, tangible change in the lives of children who deserve safety, comfort, and joy.
A new transition house – fully furnished!
Thanks to the funds raised, we are not only able to build the transition house for the boys coming into Rafiki, but we will also be able to furnish it. That means creating not just a building, but a safe, welcoming, and functional space that truly feels like home.

The bus has been ordered
For almost four years, we have had an active bus fundraiser. While we technically raised the funds nearly a year ago, significant exchange rate changes meant the cost increased substantially — delaying progress again and again.
Now, thanks to the extra funds raised at this year’s Golf Day, we are thrilled to share that the new bus has officially been ordered and is now in production.
The impact this will have on our staff and children cannot be overstated. No longer will they need to leave the farm at 6:00am simply because multiple trips are required in smaller, ageing vans. This new bus will bring greater safety, better efficiency, and so much more ease to everyday life for the children and team.
TVs for the Girls’ House and Boys’ House
We are so excited to share that we are finally able to purchase a TV for the girls’ house and one for the boys’ house. These may seem like simple additions, but they will create such meaningful moments for the children — from watching educational programs and fun shows together, to simply having a cosy space to unwind.
And to celebrate, we will be putting on a very special movie night for the children, complete with treats, popcorn, and brand new pyjamas just for the occasion. We cannot wait to see their faces, and we very much look forward to sharing all of those updates with you.

Watch the impact in action
We recently reshared an update video from our team on the ground in Kenya, showing the impact made possible by the funds raised in 2025. If you haven’t yet had a chance to watch it, we hope you will. It is a powerful reminder of what your support truly makes possible.
With Special Thanks to our Sponsors
None of this would be possible without the incredible businesses and individuals who sponsored this event. We are deeply grateful to each and every one of you.
