The link to real Kenyan life is important tooThe work we do is so much more that therapy and looking after the girls at home. We do many home visits with the girls while they are with us.

For those girls that have somebody (safe) at home, these visits are about connecting with family that they will eventually go back to – where the abuser was a stranger for example and is safely in prison where we can help the family understand etc.

But for those of our girls who cannot ever go home these ‘home visits’ are about keeping a connection with a family member or friend of the family as a link to their identity, we don’t want them to lose all they came from. It can be helpful for them knowing they also have love on the outside (as long as we are sure this is safe).

The link to real Kenyan life is important too.

This is the case for out *Thea and *Lola. They recently had a visit into their community and loved the time with some friendly, familiar faces.
